All for You is the seventh studio album by American singer Janet Jackson. It was released on April 16, 2001, by Virgin Records. The album departed from the darker themes of her previous release, The Velvet Rope (1997), which addressed issues such as domestic violence and depression, instead embracing a more upbeat and lighthearted tone. After her divorce from René Elizondo Jr., Jackson began working on her seventh studio album, All for You, aiming for a more carefree tone.
